For a Season

There is a poem by an anonymous writer that says, “People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.” It is an interesting way to look at the relationships we have with people and why some are different, shorter, or longer than others. Recently, a friend and mentor of mine I have known for 17 years, Mr. Fred Swindle, went to heaven. Fred was a trusted confidant and an amazing leader for Team National. I am sad that he is gone. Yet, I am grateful for his friendship especially during the loss of my dad. It was a difficult time in my life, and Fred was there for me and believed in me. Fred was part of my life during an important season, and he taught me lifetime lessons. He inspired me and others with his positive attitude, his wisdom and his tremendous work ethic. His lessons, his integrity, and his legacy will live on in me and others that he knew. Losing Fred reminded me that people will come and go in your life for a variety of reasons, so it is important that you enjoy the moment. Live life to the fullest, treat others kindly, be a good person, create memories, enjoy life and time spent with others. Learn from my friend Fred, life goes fast, focus on the good, work hard, play hard, encourage others and be the best you, you can be and pass on the lessons you learn to others. Enjoy the people in your life whether it is for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Warm regards,
